Every week Room 6 apply their maths strategies to real-life situations. Here is one of the problems from this week.

1. Lucy has 64 huhu grubs. She loses 38 of them to Charlotte who finds them very tasty. How many huhu grubs does Lucy have left?

Sneezes and Washing Hands

Last Friday for health we learned that sneezes can travel at 160km/hr and are caused by irritation in the nose. 
In Room 6 we use tissues and handkerchiefs when we sneeze.
Mr Mac talked about washing hands. He said you must wash your hands for as long as it takes to sing a special song.
It was Charlotte's birthday yesterday. How is this and Mr Mac's advice connected? 

 

We had 2 identical apples in class. To one apple we said really negative, mean things and to the other apple we said we said nice, kind things. When we cut open the apples do you know what we found?

Desert Island Science

You are stranded on a desert island. Your only food, rice, has spilled onto the sand. How can you separate the rice from the sand?

Monday Maths Groups

Every Monday we break into groups of 4 or 3 to solve a range of problems like - 128 calves are born and then the next week another 47 calves are born.
